A 67-year-old woman is dead, following a crash south of Winfield Thursday evening.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. on 85th Road at 194th Drive. The Kansas Highway Patrol says Virginia Hostetter of Winfield was northbound on 85th when she crashed in the front of a grain drill attached to the front of a southbound tractor.
Hostetter died as the scene. Her 72-year-old passenger was taken to William Newton Hospital in Winfield for treatment.
The driver of the tractor was not hurt. Troopers are still investigating to determine if Hostetter and her passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
