Wednesday will be a National Day of Mourning for former U.S. President George Herbert Walker Bush. A number of state and federal agencies will be closed but some local offices will remain open.
Offices for the state of Kansas will be closed along with federal offices, and U.S. Post Offices will be closed with no mail delivery.
Wichita State University will be closed and there will be no classes. WSU Tech will also be closed. The University of Kansas, Kansas State University and Emporia State University will be open with regular classes.
The city of Wichita issued a statement saying the city joins the nation in mourning the loss of George H.W. Bush, but city hall and city facilities will be open on Wednesday. Sedgwick County will also be open and county commissioners will have their regular meeting at 9 a.m.
