The Wichita Park Board will vote Monday, December 10th on the future of MacDonald Golf Course. The Board will vote whether to sell the course or keep it as part of the municipal golf system. They remain committed to keeping MacDonald accessible to the public, and if the board decides it will sell, it would require a clause in the sales agreement that maintains the land for public use. The 146 acre golf course in northeast Wichita ran a $134,000 deficit last year and the whole municipal golf system, if all courses remain open, is projected to have a $600,000 deficit next year.
