A 38-year-0ld man was in critical condition after accidentally shooting himself in the head with a nail gun at a Derby home Wednesday morning.
Sedgwick County sheriff’s lieutenant Tim Myers said the man told deputies he was working on a home renovation project, and he fell from a ladder. When the man hit the ground, a nail gun he was holding hit him in the back of the head and he accidentally pulled the trigger. The man was able to walk to the scene of a traffic accident at 63rd Street South and K-15 to ask for help, and he was taken to a hospital.
