A bomb squad from Wichita’s McConnell Air Force Base has destroyed several items that were taken from a home Sunday in Burden, in Cowley County.
Suspicious items were found by family members who were cleaning the home of a man who had recently died. Cowley County sheriff’s deputies, Winfield fire department crews and Burden police were called to the home. The McConnell Air Force Base Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit took some items out of the home, and they were taken to a rural area and destroyed Monday.
Burden police said in a statement that no charges are expected in the case at this time.
