Wichita plans ‘Snow Day’ with manufactured snow Wednesday

Snow is not in the forecast this week in Wichita, but that isn’t stopping the city from throwing a “Snow Day” party.

Wichita Parks & Recreation is hosting a free event with snow, sledding, coffee and hot chocolate Wednesday, January 2 at the Mid-America All-Indian Center.

Snow Bros Snowmakers will create snow, as long as the outdoor temperature is low enough Wednesday, and Dunkin Donuts will bring free coffee and hot chocolate. Anyone who wants to participate is encouraged to bring their snow gear and a sled.

The city stated children under 10 years old will need adult supervision.

“This event is free and open to children, adults who identify as children and anyone else who loves snow!” the city stated.
