Sedgwick County sheriff Jeff Easter has appointed a new undersheriff. Colonel Brian White has taken command of the detention bureau after the retirement of Colonel Brenda Dietzman.
White has been a resident of Sedgwick County for 29 years, and he began his law enforcement career with the Wichita Police Department in 1989. He retired from the WPD in 2018 after reaching the rank of captain. He has worked as a patrol officer and has supervised officers in patrol, traffic and the Special Community Action Team (SCAT). He was also a commander for the training academy and the Patrol North bureau.
White has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri.
