The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying multiple people who illegally used a credit card belonging to a school district.
It began on December 21, when 6 people burglarized the Country View Elementary school, located at 16300 151st Road, east of Winfield. The burglars caused a lot of damage to the school and took several items.
The district didn’t discover that two credit cards had also been taken until early January. The burglars spent more than $10,000.
Between Dec.22 and Dec.24 the credit cards were used at the Walmart at Pawnee and Broadway in Wichita, and the Dillon’s in Derby. Anyone who can identify the suspects or has information about the case is asked to contact Detective Lt. Tommy Scott at (620) 221-5445.
