Bill Introduced to Protect Seniors from Financial Scams

Kansas Senator Jerry Moran and Democratic Senator Bill Casey introduced the Stop Seniors Scam Act to Congress this week. This bipartisan bill would ensure retailers, financial institutions, and wire transfer companies have the resources to train employees on how to stop financial fraud and scams on seniors. “This legislation would bring key industry and government leaders together to make certain we are doing all we can to protect seniors. I am proud to introduce this widely-supported, bipartisan bill with Senator Casey that will provide resources, materials, and programs on fraud prevention,” said Senator Moran. The bill would create a federal advisory council to develop educational materials for companies to use to train employees on how to spot and stop financial scams before the point of sale.
