Horticulture center in Haysville gets reprieve from Kansas State University

The John C. Pair Horticulture Center in Haysville has gotten a reprieve.
Last year, the Kansas State University Department of Agriculture had decided to close the center as a cost cutting measure.  However, after feedback from stakeholders and from a task force, a number of proposals are being adopted to broaden and modify what the center does.
One of those initiatives is to make the center the state’s primary site for industrial hemp research.  The center will also be adopting operational facilities to help ease the costs of operation.
