An unidentified man is dead after a fire in south Wichita, and investigators say he was smoking while using oxygen.
Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire in the 2500 block of S Washington, near Pawnee, before 7:30 Thursday morning. Responding crews saw smoke coming from an attic.
A 58-year-old man was found dead in a bedroom, where the fire was burning. His name has not been released.
The fire caused $55,000 in damage to the home.
