The public is invited to a 50th birthday celebration for Wichita’s Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center.
Birthday cake will be provided during the event at the Century II Exhibition Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
A citizens committee has been looking at the building and the challenges that it will be facing in future years. Mayor Jeff Longwell said the committee will present its findings, but no recommendations have been made and he said no decision has been made on the future of the building. Longwell said there is more work to be done before any decisions are made.
People who attend Tuesday’s event will hear about options for the future of performing arts and conventions in Wichita.
