A dead mountain lion has been discovered in north-central Kansas.
Upland bird hunters found the corpse of the female mountain lion Thursday while hunting in Rooks County, north of Hays. The hunters immediately contacted a local game warden, according to a Facebook post on the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, & Tourism Game Wardens page.
It’s not clear what led to the animal’s death but game wardens say they are investigating.
