Channel 8 asking for help with two new projects

The Kansas public television station KPTS (Kansas Public Telecommunications Service) is launching fundraisers for two new projects.

The station is trying to raise $160,000 to begin broadcasting a fourth channel, KPTS PBS Kids 24/7 Channel. It would triple the amount of children’s programming available through KPTS.

The other fundraiser is for a documentary about Joyland Amusement Park called Joyland: Reliving the Memories. The film will include home movies, photos and interviews about the park that was open in Wichita from 1949 to 2004. That project needs $6,000 by April 13.

More than 70 percent of the budget for KPTS comes from local fundraising. If you want to support the public television station and help those two projects happen, click here to visit kpts.org.
