Chautauqua County officials have a man in custody after a fatal shooting Sunday evening.
Deputies found the victim in a home northeast of Peru around 6;15 p.m. after a report that a man had been shot. He was taken to the Sedan City Hospital where he was pronounced dead, and he was identified as 46-year-old Joe Corman.
Investigators identified a suspect and found him at his home in Niotaze. 43-year-old Travis Dickson was formally charged Monday with first degree murder.
No other details have been released on the shooting. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is working with Chautauqua County officials on the case.
