Gas prices are going up across the country, including in Wichita.
With a 30 cent-per-gallon jump in the last month and a six cent jump last week, Kansas had the fifth-largest weekly gas price increase in the nation.
Auto group AAA Kansas stated that jump happened because of a crude oil price increase and maintenance at refineries.
The average gas price in Wichita Tuesday morning was $2.27 per gallon. That’s still about 20 cents cheaper than the national average, and AAA reported Kansas is the 13th-cheapest place to get gas. Missouri and Arkansas take the top spot with gas at $2.17 per gallon.
