A small plane struck a house while trying to land at Stearman Field near Benton in Butler County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said a Cessna L 19 Bird Dog airplane was landing on an unpaved runway at the airport, and the pilot lost control just after the plane touched down. The plane veered to the southwest and struck an unoccupied home.
The pilot, a 65-year-old Benton man, and a passenger, a 35-year-old man from Derby, had minor injuries.
The accident was reported just after 1 p.m. Monday.
