Plea hearing scheduled for men charged in Wichita gambling case

A plea hearing has been scheduled for two Wichita men who have been charged in a federal gambling investigation.

Brock Wedman and former Wichita police officer Michael Zajkowski were charged in connection with an illegal poker game in Wichita in 2014.  They pleaded not guilty last year, but there indications they want to change that plea.   A hearing has been scheduled for April 15th.   Wedman was accused of sponsoring the game, obstructing law enforcement and making false statements. Zajkowski was charged with obstructing law enforcement by trying to reveal an undercover officer at the poker game.

The FBI began looking into illegal gambling operations in Wichita in 2011, and eight men have been charged in the case.
