A 23-year-old man is dead following a shooting Monday evening.
A resident in the 1200 block of North Minnesota called 911 after hearing shots outside. When police arrived, they found a man outside of a home with a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. He is the fifth criminal homicide victim so far this year.
Wichita Police say the shooting was not random. The man had gone to the home to meet with someone or several people.
Police are withholding the man’s name while they work to notify his family. Anyone who has information about the case is asked to contact detectives at 268-4407 or Crime Stoppers, at 267-2111.
