The Wichita Fire Department says a home that caught fire early Tuesday morning had no working smoke detectors.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. near 33rd Street North and Broadway.  When crews arrived on scene they found heavy smoke coming from the house.

Four adults and two children where inside of the home when the fire broke out, but were able to escape.  All six were taken to the hospital, two with potentially critical injuries.

However, all have been treated and released from the hospital.  Most of the damage was confined to one bedroom and investigators say wind helped stoke the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  Damage is estimated at $80,000 to the home and its contents.
