A security guard at Towne East Square mall was hit by a taser during an attempted robbery Sunday night.
It happened around 11:50 p.m. inside of the security office. A 33-year-old guard reported she was working in the office with a 66-year-old guard when a man entered the office, used the taser on one of them, and demanded money from the mall.
One of the guards tried to call 911 on a cell phone, the but suspect took the phone and ran away. He hasn’t been caught yet.
He’s described as an unknown black male who is in his 20’s or 30’s. He was around 5’8″ tall and weighed around 160 pounds.
He was wearing a black coat, gloves, and a black and orange mask on his face. He was armed with a large, black taser.
Police are trying to figure out how he was able to get inside the mall.
