Police are investigating a vandalism at an east Wichita church. Officials at Table of Hope Metropolitan Community Church near Douglas and Kansas found 17 windows that were cracked or broken Monday morning.
The church’s pastor, Jackie Carter, said there have been previous incidents of vandalism and she believes the church is being targeted because it welcomes members of the LGBTQ community.
The church replaced its first-floor windows and will make stained glass repairs later in the week.
Police are asking for information from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the neighborhood.
