Wichita police say a 39-year-old man’s injuries are not life-threatening from a shooting near 8th and Pershing.
Officers were called to the area around 6:20 Saturday evening. They found shell casings in the street and a home that was hit. An adult and two children were in the home but they were not hurt.
The shooting victim showed up at Wesley shortly after and was treated for his injuries.
Police say that victim is not cooperating with investigators so they don’t have much to go on. It’s not clear why the man was shot, but police report he is a known gang member.
