Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army veteran Perry West. Perry retired from the Army in 2007 after 24 years of service. He earned multiple awards including a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Action Badge and Legion of Merit. After his service he relied on his military training when he decided to go back to school Perry said, “You know what your requirements are, and you’re taught to exceed the standards.” That’s why it should come as no surprise that the former sergeant major is graduating from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and with a 4.0 GPA. Congratulations Perry and thank you for your service.
