More counties added to Kansas disaster declaration

Governor Laura Kelly has added more counties to a state of disaster emergency declaration for severe storms and flooding.

The governor has added Butler, Kingman, Lyons, Pottawatomie and Wilson counties to the declaration.   Barber, Chase, Cowley, Greenwood, Harvey, Marion, Morris, Reno, Rice and Sumner counties are among other counties that were previously named in the declaration.

The declaration authorizes the use of state resources and personnel to help with response and recovery operations in the affected counties.    More counties could be added to the declaration later.
