20-year-old Dieubent Mpirwa is identified as the man who was found shot and killed Friday afternoon near Harry and Edgemoor.
Wichita Police responded to the report of a shooting around 4:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Parkwood. When they arrived, they found Mpirwa dead from a single gunshot wound.
A 24-year-old man was arrested for Mpirwa’s death. He’s jailed on a charge of first-degree murder.
Police say the men knew each other and had gotten into a fight just prior to the shooting. Police haven’t said what the dispute was about.
KFDI News is withholding the suspect’s name until he has been formally charged with a crime.
