Star Spangled Salute: A UK veteran tops Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran with His Song About D-Day

Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors a D-Day veteran Jim Radford.  Jim, just wrote a powerful ballad called ‘The Shores of Normandy’ as the 75th anniversary of D-Day approaches this Thursday. The song was inspired by his time working on a ship on the 6th of June 1944.  He recorded the song with the intention of raising money to build the British Normandy Memorial, which will record the names of the 22,442 men and women serving under British command who died that day. Little did Jim know, his song would go to number one and beat out Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran on the Amazon music charts.  Jim said, “I’m delighted, I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d be number one on any list.”  Thank you Jim for your service and your powerful song.
