Wichita Police said a minivan collided with a patrol car at a south side intersection, sending the officer and five other people to a hospital.
It happened around 12:15 p.m. at Harry and George Washington Blvd. Police said the officer was driving north and was hit on the driver’s side by a white Chrysler Town and Country van that was going east on Harry. The officer was treated and released at a hospital, while two men and three women from the van were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The officer went to the hospital to be treated for a minor leg injury. The crash is still under investigation.
