According to the Sedgwick County Health Department, the number of mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus is at the highest level it’s seen in 6 years.
However, no human cases have been reported so far, this year.
In order to reduce the number of mosquitoes, the county is handing out mosquito dunks, which are used in small bodies of water to stop mosquito larva from hatching.
You are encouraged to eliminate any standing water to reduce the number of mosquitoes.
