Family, friends fundraising for family in El Paso with ties to Salina

As of 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, the fundraising goal has been met.

Original story:

Family and friends in El Paso, Texas are using GoFundMe.com to fundraise for a family directly affected by Saturday’s mass shooting at a mall. That family has ties to Salina, where they lived for ten years. The husband and wife were at the entrance to the Walmart when the shooting began there Saturday morning.

The couple was fundraising for their daughter’s sports team at the time.

Here’s more from the GoFundMe page:

(sic) Today, three of our parents from Xsquad Baseball were at Walmart fundraising for their daughter’s soccer team EPFusion. Tragically, three of our parents (two moms and one coach) were shot multiple times. The two moms are in stable condition and the coach is in critical condition at this time. This has been a difficult time for all of us and we are in disbelief that this has occurred in our beloved community. We will be doing this fund for all the families involved to help with anything that they may need in this difficult time. Please continue to keep them all in your thoughts and prayers. We love our baseball community and we love these parents like our own family and are so heartbroken that they are going through all this. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and support. #onesquad #epfusion #elpasostrong
