A former Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputy has lost his law enforcement certification following a pair of arrests last year.
Raymond Paredes of Bel Aire was arrested twice on October 31, of last year. Police originally took him into custody for domestic battery against his wife.
After he bonded out of jail, he returned to the home, which violated a protection order. He was arrested again.
Paredes was placed on unpaid leave and his employment with the sheriff’s office was terminated in late March. In April, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery.
The Kansas Commission on Peace Officers’ Standards and Training revoked Paredes certification July 30.
