Rise Up For Youth expands into more high schools

Your high schoolers have the opportunity to join a mentoring program on their first day of school this week.

Rise Up For Youth Founder Lynn Gilkey says their program offers community service projects and more.

We have weekly sessions with young people who join the program. We have monthly enrichment workshops on a Saturday. Then we do college visits. We expose them to civic engagement. We guarantee them mentors to walk them through high school so that they graduate high school on time and choose healthy lifestyle behaviors.

Rise Up For Youth is expanding into more schools this year. They will be in Heights and Northeast for the first time this year. Look for them on your first day of high school this week — whether that’s tomorrow or Wednesday.

Founder David Gilkey says the Rise Up for Youth program will be reaching out to freshman and sophomores this week.

On August 13, it’s the first day for freshman so we’re set up at those schools to recruit as many freshman as we can.

Rise Up For Youth is now in the following six high schools:

  • East
  • West
  • North
  • Southeast
  • Heights
  • Northeast
