Police say two groups of people shot at each other in a parking lot of an apartment complex. Cars and apartment units were hit but no other injuries were reported. This is believed to be gang related.

This is Wichita’s 19th criminal homicide in 2019. Police say that number is the lowest year-to-date figure the city has seen in a few years.

No arrests have been made yet. Anyone with more information is asked to call police at 268-4407, or leave a tip with Crime Stoppers at 267-2111.

DeShazer says he’s afraid more young people will die from senseless violence. Anyone who information they would like to share can call 316-519-2282.
