Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors World War II Veteran James South. James arrived in Normandy about 7 days after D-Day and as you can imagine, still saw an awful lot. One of his fondest memories is that of his girlfriend during the war who wrote him a letter every day that he was gone. That woman became his wife of 55 years. Now James is asking for more mail. All James wants for his 100th birthday is birthday cards from all over. He says, “It would give me a feeling that I am recognized for what I do, what I am, and I would cherish it forever.” Here’s the address if you want to send him a card or two, he turns 100 on October 7th.
