Fundraiser for recovery community Saturday night

You can support the recovery community tomorrow night at Century 2 Concert Hall in Wichita. Victor Fitz with the Substance Abuse Center of Kansas (SACK) says their 6th Annual Recovery Idol fundraiser is Saturday night.

“The money is used for helping individuals who are suffering from substance use issues with housing, hygiene products, and getting their medications. It’s also to support our sobering and detox unit,” says Victor Fitz, the Clinical Care Manager of SACK’s Crossover Recovery Center.

The show will have talent from all over the region performing as well as a silent auction. Tickets are on sale now on WichitaTix.com.

“I think the important thing to recognize is that we want to give everybody an opportunity to recover and it starts right there at detox and wanting to change their lives. So we want to support them right when they go to detox through treatment and on in further into their recovery,” says Fitz.

Tickets are $15 and advance and $20 at the door. There will be a silent auction, performances from musical talent from all over the area, and a performance by an artist in recovery, Colicchie.

If you or someone you know are suffering from drug addiction and need help, you can call SACK Detox at 633-4705, Crossover Recovery Center at 262-6622, or COMCARE Crisis at 660-7500.
