Police have identified the victim of a fatal crash in west Wichita as 8-year-old Kiya Johnson.
Police were called to a crash Thursday evening at 6:45 at the intersection of Taft and West Streets. Police said a white Jeep SUV was going north on West Street when it collided with a southbound Lincoln Navigator SUV that was turning east onto Taft. The Navigator then struck a white Dodge Challenger that had stopped on Taft at a red light, and the Navigator then rolled onto its side.
Johnson was taken to a hospital with critical injuries and she died later in the evening. Several other people were injured but the injuries were not serious.
Police are still investigating the crash and they’re asking for anyone who witnessed the accident to call the WPD accident follow-up section at 350-3685.
