A man who was arrested for a stabbing attack in east Wichita has appeared in federal court on a different charge.
30-year-old Wade Dunn is charged with one count of escape from custody. He is accused of escaping from the Mirror, Inc. Residential Re-Entry Center in Wichita. In 2017, Dunn had been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison after being convicted on a firearms possession charge. He was transferred in July to the Re-Entry Center to complete his sentence, but on September 23rd he left the center on a pass and failed to return.
Dunn was arrested late last week in connection with a random attack on a 28-year-old woman that happened September 23rd in the 7400 block of East 17th. The woman was stabbed a number of times, and she is recovering in a hospital.
Dunn will remain in jail pending trial.
