Teens arrested for shooting into NW Wichita home

Two 17-year-old males were arrested for shooting into a northwest Wichita home.

An 80-year-old woman reported hearing a loud noise early Monday morning and finding damage to her garage. Officers checked her home, in the 1600 block of North Robin, near 13th and Tyler,  and found damage from a shotgun blast. This damaged the woman’s garage, a car in the garage, and other items inside. An 18-year-old female was living in home too but there were no injuries.

Investigators later identified the two teenage suspects, who knew the 18-year-old. The 17-year-olds were arrested for firing into a home and one is also facing a threat charge. Police found a shotgun too.

An exact motive for this shooting is not known and an investigation is ongoing.
