Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors 69-year old Vietnam Marine veteran John Vincent. When John entered hospice care, his time was limited and unfortunately because he didn’t have any family to care for his dog, he was forced to give up his best friend, a 6-year old Yorkshire Terrier named Patch. With John facing the end with no family he had one last wish, he wanted to see Patch again.  John’s social worker did the rest and a few days ago, the two were reunited for a final, tearful goodbye.  Patch gave John lots of kisses as he held his little dog tightly.  The two got to spend the entire day together.  As far as Patch, there is already an interested party ready to adopt and take care of John’s dog.  Thank you John for your service.
