A fire at a landfill north of McPherson has produced toxic substances in the smoke from the fire. A plume model from the National Weather Service has indicated the City of McPherson will be directly affected. Chief Wyssmann of the McPherson Fire Department announced Sunday evening that all residents are encouraged to do the following:

1. Go inside

2. Close all windows and doors

3. Stay tuned to Radio/TV/Social Media for further updates.
