Winter weather advisories are out for much of Kansas as a winter storm moves into the state. The storm is expected to bring snow across much of the state with the heaviest amounts in northwest and northeastern areas.
The Wichita area could get a trace to an inch of snow, while areas to the north into Pratt, Reno and Harvey counties could see one to three inches. Northwest and northeastern areas of Kansas could get three to five inches before the storm ends Wednesday evening.
There was little or no precipitation in the Wichita area Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but areas of snow were developing in western and southern areas.
