A 37-year-old man is facing charges after a standoff with Cowley County deputies at a home near Winfield.
Justin Hunter was arrested after deputies and a SWAT team went into a home Thursday in the 12,400 block of 75th Road.
The Cowley County sheriff’s office said deputies were called to the home around 9:30 p.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance. A man with a gun holstered at his hip answered the door, and he was ordered to step outside. He took the gun out and threw it at a deputy and went back inside, saying he had more guns. A woman got out of the home and was treated for facial injuries. The man refused orders to leave the home, and members of the Southern Kansas SWAT team went inside and took him into custody.
