Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army veteran John Schluep, founder of the non-profit “Warriors’ Journey Home”. In his home town, John’s agency provides information and support for veterans, their families and the community as veterans transition to life after their deployment. To raise awareness for veterans’ mental health issues, John has created one of several “Witness Trees”. Every day, from today until Veterans Day, John will hang 22 dog tags from the tree to represent those 22 veterans who take their lives every day. Thank you John for helping our veterans and thank you for your service.
