Crime Stoppers reports record month for October

The Wichita-Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers program has reported one of its most successful months for October.

The Crime Stoppers advisory committee has approved $3,550 in cash rewards for anonymous tips, and one homicide tip was approved for $1,000.

The tips led to 13 arrests for felony crimes, including felony warrants.   Six guns were seized, one of which was stolen.   Crime Stoppers tips also led to the arrests of two people suspected of separate robberies of a Fidelity Bank branch in northeast Wichita in September and October.

Tips also led to the seizure of nearly $10,000 in drugs and over $56,000 in cash was seized.

Crime Stoppers chair Stacey Kluge said in a press release that the October results are perfect examples of major crimes being solved with the help of citizens, media and law enforcement.
