Police said a 17-year-old Arkansas City boy has died after a shooting incident at a home.
The boy’s name has not been released. Police said the boy was shot unintentionally by a family member who was handling a gun on November 9th at a home in the 500 block of South D Street. The boy was taken to a hospital in Arkansas City and later flown to a Wichita hospital. He died Wednesday of complications related to the gunshot wound.
Police said the shooting is still under investigation and it will be up to the Cowley County Attorney’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed.
