A Buhler middle school teacher and football coach has been identified as the driver killed in a crash Friday morning in Reno County.

It happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. on K-61 near the Medora exit.  The Kansas Highway Patrol said a pickup went out of control on an icy bridge and collided with a semi.

The KHP identified the victim as 46-year-old Jory Konrade.  He taught at Prairie Hills Middle School and also served as a football coach.

The Buhler school district had counselors on-hand for students on Friday.  A scheduled vocal music concert at the school has been postponed.
