Today’s Star Spangled Salute honors Army veteran Ricky King and the stranger who saved his life.    A year ago Ricky put out a desperate plea for the only thing he wanted or Christmas, a new kidney.  He had just moved to a new neighborhood and was so desperate he put a sign on the back of his car that read “Need Kidney, O Positive” and then his phone number.  2 houses down, neighbor and stranger Armando Llanes saw the sign, knocked on his new neighbors door and introduced himself. Armando said he was brought to tears hearing Ricky’s story, and instantly decided to get tested.  He said our sons play together and we never leave a soldier behind, that’s right, Armando is an Army veteran too.  Thank you Ricky and Armando for your service and thank you Armando for your selfless gift.
