Wichita man gets 20 years for actions related to another man’s death

A judge has sentenced a Wichita man to over 20 years in prison for actions related to the death of another man at a west Wichita home.

31-year-old Bryce Martin had pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.   He was sentenced to 246 months in prison.

On May 2nd, 2018, police found 41-year-old Jacob Healzer on the floor of a home in the 200 block of North Sabin.   Healzer had been severely beaten and had multiple fractures of the face, as well as a fracture of a bone in his neck.   An autopsy found that he died of acute methamphetamine intoxication, with contributing factors from the beating and from heart disease.
