A man has been arrested after he and another man tried to rob a northeast Wichita Speedy Cash.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. near 21st and Woodlawn. Police say the suspects approached two employees as they walked out of the store and one of the men was armed with a knife.
They began forcing the two employees back inside of the store, but the building alarm went off. Both men fled the area.
The employees had minor injuries, but nothing was taken. Police were later able to identify one of the suspects, who was arrested Wednesday in 3500 block of North Inwood.
The 20-year-old man is being held on charges of attempted aggravated robbery, and two counts of aggravated kidnapping. KFDI News is not identifying the man until he is formally charged with a crime.
