A man who led Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputies on chase early Thursday morning with a woman and infant inside the car has been captured.

It began around 12 a.m. Thursday when deputies tried to pull over the driver near Kellogg and 119th Street West.  The 26-year-old driver fled and led deputies on a chase.

It ended when the man drove into a field about 8 miles south of Goddard, crashed into a tree, and then ran away.  Inside the car they found a woman and an infant who were unharmed.

Deputies did not immediately locate the suspect.  Around 11:30 a.m., someone spotted a man walking in a field in a rural area of the county.

Deputies determined the man was the suspect from the earlier chase.  He was taken to the hospital after complaining he had been hurt in the crash.

He was treated and released by to deputies who booked him into jail on charges of aggravated endangering a child, driving without a license, unlawful possession of controlled substance, and other traffic violations.  KFDI News is not identifying the man until he has been formally charged in the case.
